Building and Proprietors The single deck hall had 714 seats and a proscenium width of 18 feet. Early proprietors were Parkgate and Denaby Theatres Ltd with G. Burton as resident manager. Typical prices were 4d to 9d for two shows nightly and two changes weekly. By the mid-1920's it was taken over by Heeley and Amalgamated Cinemas Ltd, a Sheffield based company formed in 1920 by Elisha C. Clayton (the originator of Clayton's Bioscope) with F. Shaw as its general manager and later run by Frank C. Clayton who controlled several cinemas in Sheffield and the Regal at nearby Rawmarsh. Prices in 1950 were 6d to 1/3d with continuous shows on weekdays and separate shows on Saturdays with two programme changes weekly.
